Inbound Delivery Requirements

Documents

Master Packing Slip:

All deliveries require one master packing slip (Bill of Lading) for the entire delivery. The master packing slip shall be clearly marked and applied to the side of one of the pallets. The master packing slip shall contain the pallet count, PO information, ASN number, list of SKUs, and quantity of each SKU.

Pallet Content Sheets:

Pallet content sheets shall be attached to both full pallets and mixed pallets. Each pallet content sheet shall contain the PO information, ASN number, list of SKUs, quantity of each SKU, the product’s MFG/REF number, and (if applicable) expiration dates. This information shall also be included in both bar code and type font attached to the pallet itself. Please include individual barcodes for the PO number, the ASN, the SKU, and the MFG/REF number. Delivery

Small Package:

All product shipped Parcel Carrier (FedEx, UPS, DHL, and USPS) must have paperwork on each package. In addition, the shipping label must contain the PO & PO line number in the PO Reference field and quantity in the package in the comments field.

Scheduling Appointments:

Carriers must schedule all LDC delivery appointments at least one day in advance via Open Dock. All scheduled appointments must include the BSWH PO number and correct pallet count. Drivers should arrive prior to the delivery appointment. Drivers will be asked to provide the Open Dock appointment confirmation number upon arrival. Drivers arriving more than 30 minutes past the scheduled starting time for the delivery appointment must reschedule via Open Dock.

Driver Expectations:

BSWH requires all visitors to be in professional attire that is free of holes. Closed toed shoes, pants, and tops shall be worn while on site. Drivers shall not wear anything that BSWH employees might find offensive or deem controversial. In addition, cell phone use, eating, and drinking are allowed only in designated areas. Personal protective equipment (e.g., masks) may be required while in the facility.

Pallet Requirements:

Pallets used to transport products must be, at minimum, class B2 industry standard stringer pallets sized 40” X 48” with notches for side entry. Stringer pallets with only two-way entry are not acceptable. Pallets are disposable and will not be returned. Products must not exceed or hang over the footprint of the pallet.

The total height of the pallet and products should not exceed 72”.

All pallets must have a pallet count and sequence. For example, if there are three pallets to be delivered, the pallet count would be 1/3, 2/3, 3/3. Place this in the upper right or left corner of the pallet.

Full pallets are preferred given the LDC volumes. If a pallet contains two or more BSWH SKUs, the exterior of the pallet must be marked as “Mixed,” with all similar products consolidated. Both full and mixed pallets must include pallet content sheets.

The total weight of the pallet must not exceed 3,000 lbs. For safety reasons, the center of gravity should be in the middle of the pallet. Cases should be interlocked and not column stacked where applicable.

Product

Packaging:

All boxes which contain product shall be robust enough (proper gauge) to arrive in serviceable condition and designed to withstand the rigors of normal freight handling. All packaging shall fully contain the intended product. For example, jugs and hand pumps should not be separated. Likewise, sharps containers and lids should not be separated. When the exterior dimensions of a product changes or quantity per case changes, the change must be approved prior to shipment. Package consistency helps us maintain a consistent warehouse system. MFG/REF, the manufacturing number, shall be clearly readable on the exterior of the packaging.

Product Expectations:

All product must arrive damage free. Damage free means (a) corners of boxes should be intact, (b) no product should be leaking from the package, (c) all boxes remain sealed, and (d) package is not crushed from stacking. Damaged products and packages cannot be resold and will be returned.

All product must arrive with a six month minimum shelf life (e.g., 6 calendar months prior to product expiration). Expiration dates should be included on both the pallet content sheets and on the product packaging. Expiration dates should be legible through any wrapping on the pallet.

Safety Warnings

All product requiring special handling due to weight, safety concern, or potential risk shall be indicated on the package and visible without opening. All product weighing more than 40 pounds shall be marked indicating “over 40 LBS." Product with health hazards and any necessary personal protective equipment for handling shall be indicated on the product and the pallet content sheet.
